Client is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join its Protein Sciences Analytical Team.
- This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to various Discovery Research Therapeutic Areas (TAs) and Projects by providing analytical and functional characterization of biologics and biopharmaceutical products, such as complex protein antigens, monoclonal antibodies, multi-specifics, and other antibody-like biologics.
- As part of our team, your work will drive the discovery and development of groundbreaking treatments.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct mass spectrometry analyses for comprehensive characterization of biologics and biotherapeutics, including intact, reduced, subunit, and peptide mapping approaches.
- Perform regular analytical assessments of biologics utilizing methods such as Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), Reverse Phase Liquid Chromatography (RPLC), Capillary Electrophoresis (CE), and automation technologies.
- Ensure the optimal functioning of laboratory equipment through routine maintenance and effective troubleshooting of experimental challenges.
- Evaluate, document, and succinctly report experimental data, formulate well-supported conclusions, and design subsequent experiments informed by multidisciplinary insights.
- Document laboratory activities in Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN) in accordance with best practices for good documentation.
- Work closely with other scientists and departments to ensure alignment and progress on project goals.
- Contribute to team discussions, share valuable insights, and present experimental findings and progress updates to colleagues and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry with over 3 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on expertise with various mass spectrometry platforms, including Orbitrap and Q-ToF, along with proficiency in MS workflows for protein characterization and the use of MS software for analyzing both routine and complex datasets.
- Solid analytical proficiency in a range of chromatographic and capillary electrophoresis techniques.
- Familiarity with biophysical and structural methods, such as Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Differential Scanning Fluorimetry (DSF), Hydrogen-Deuterium Exchange Mass Spectrometry (HDX-MS), and X-ray crystallography, is a plus.
- Experience in working with biologics, monoclonal antibodies, and/or protein therapeutics is a plus.
- Goal-oriented team player with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, a strong positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
